My wife and I went on honeymoon in Italy

by joesixpack

We went in early October 2001 and saw Rome (4 days), Florence (4 days), Venice (3 days).
In terms of sights/museums and dining, I'd rank them 1-Florence, 2-Venice, 3-Rome. Florence is absolutely beautiful. I loved Venice but have had friends that hated it. I think they went in the heat of the summer with the crowds and stench. In the fall, it wasn't too crowded and had a great feel.
Rome has plenty to offer but sadly feels like just another big city. It is not as embracing as Florence or Venice.
